As a content creator himself, Adam is most known for his series Yonas Gets A Job, The Daily Devo Show, co-creating the campy action figure hit, Playtime, and Backseat Drivers, the world’s first car show for kids.
Adam is driven by three key principles:
-Kids are turned off by shows that talk down to them instead of treating them like people.
-So much content is paced so quickly that kids get confused, causing them to check out and leave the platform.
-Making shows that looks like a million dollars without breaking the bank.
As Head of Content for Yippee TV, exclusive home of the new VeggieTales, Mellema was a key member of the launch team, guiding the licensing of 69 shows including Madeline and Richard Scary’s Busy Town, YouTube Channel content from the creators like Fish Whisperer and English Tree TV, and most notably, overseeing the creation of 29 original series for Yippee, boasting more than 500 episodes of content in 18 months and becoming profitable within 2 years.
